Who am I?

You can call me Cavern! I'm a graphic designer, illustrator and amateur photographer who has spent the last 14+ years creating art. I've built my artwork from the ground up through independent study of online art, but 2018 is the first year that I felt confident enough to start marketing myself out to the world for my illustrations and digital work. I've completed college courses to strengthen my abilities and have sat in to shadow multiple designers with real life experience in the field, but I mainly do this as an enjoyable exploration of my own thoughts and tend to lean towards the more influential side of design so that I can help create innovative pieces for others.My main skill sets include traditional sketching and character design, but I also do work in logo design, layouts for social media and e-mail campaigns, street photography, video editing, storyboarding for animation, copywriting, and plenty of other side things that I've picked up over the years doing volunteer work for local communities. Outside of my artist career, I usually can be found plotting out science fiction novels or spending time with the local wildlife and educating people on animal care needs.Below you can find some examples of my work! Guidelines

While you do technically "own" this art once you have bought it, there are some things you are absolutely not allowed to do with it. This is a legal precaution to make sure that my art is being used for what it's intended to be used for, and not abused to hurt others. If you have any other questions about what you are or are not allowed to do with the art, make sure to ask BEFORE you confirm the pricing. If you are found to be breaking these terms, your art will be removed from my socials, messages regarding the art will be removed from your access, and you will be blocked accordingly.

Personal Boundaries

Every artist has to have limits, so I'm here to set mine! I want to make it clear to the people who are working with me exactly what I'm comfortable doing and what I cannot do, that way they know ahead of time what they're getting into. The list is pretty simple, but if you have any questions or things you're not sure about, I would be happy to help explain through a contact form.

The Process

For each commission, the process is pretty simple! But, since it can sometimes be difficult to visualize, I've made a contact form on the last page of this website with everything you need to send to me. I will need visual references for all characters, and if I do not have them I will have to discuss a design fee as I will have to be the one to decide the appearance of the characters being drawn. If any of these sections of the form are confusing or you would like more information, please mention so in the "extra information" section, so that I can help explain things once I contact you!Once you have the form sent, it will take about 1-2 business days for me to get back to you, so have patience. I conduct all emails through my business email, [email protected], so be on the look out for a message from that address! I'll make sure to ask for some character references and follow up questions you might have missed in your original form. I will also send a quote breakdown of exactly what your request would cost. Once you've responded to my questions and you feel satisfied with the proposed pricing, I will send you a request for payment via either cashapp, venmo, or paypal, and you will be expected to pay within a day of that request being confirmed, unless you have any issues with the payment or if we discussed a plan beforehand.Once you have given me payment, I get to work. I try to do at least a couple thumbnails per piece, which are very quick concepts doodled out without a lot of detail. These are usually sent around the same day of payment, if not a little bit afterwards, and I wait for your approval on which one to go forward with beyond this point. Whichever one you choose, I will start doing the more finalized version of your piece. The turn around time for each piece will usually be one to two weeks or less, but this depends on life circumstances and other commissions I have going on at the time. You will be given a tracking sheet with notes as to where the progress is on your commission that will be updated every time I get the chance to work on it.Your final images will include: all WIP images, a transparent background version of the final, a white/other flat color background of your choosing for the final, and your choice of what you would like for me to have in the description when it is posted to my main tumblr and other social media. If you would prefer me to not post it to those social media or have other concerns about the posting process, talk to me about it once I send you the final images so that I can know what would work best for you.

Pricing

All payment is done upfront in USD, usually through either Cashapp, Venmo, or Paypal. If you experience an especially long wait time due to the artist having difficulties, you may get a free upgrade to colors, sketch backgrounds, or extra doodles at the artist's discretion.All prices are for individual characters other than special offers like sketch pages. If you would like an additional character in the piece, there will be +50% of the base price for each added character. No background options will be offered at this time, other than simple shapes or patterns. If you would like a simple background or items with your characters, please inform me through the request form or ask during discussion.

Small, simplified characters. Only comes in a full body flat color form, but due to the smaller size and way the character is drawn you get a discount!Sketch Page - $45
A combination of 5-7 sketches of varying types, all on one page. Can contain up to 3 different characters. You give me some ideas of what you want drawn, and I will get creative freedom on poses and expressions.Custom Character Design - $60
You give me references and aesthetics as well as any design notes or features you want included, and I make a design for a character based off of what you like.Graphic Design - varies
